Price Increase

I’ve been actively developing third-party extensions for PageLines for nearly a year now, and in that time I’ve authored nearly 30 of them! Most of them are sections, but there’s a few great selling themes and plugins in the mix as well. It makes it easy for developers and clients alike to build what they need, without writing a section themselves.

As you can imagine, the level of support and maintenance required for 30 products is, in itself, a full time gig requiring a lot of time. In lieu of this, a couple new things are currently underway.

Better Support

So the comments system on the product pages worked great as a method of providing support, up until I hit about 15 products. Then it started to get to be a pain in the ass because you have like a 2px window to write in, and some comments get spammed, etc. So PageLines, in support of their authors, created a support forum for us, the 3rd party devs. Pretty sweet right? All products together. That worked up until the forum was spammed with nothing but support stuff for my products. Haha!

So the folks at PageLines created me, my very own forum. Products by Nick Haskins (not public, you have to be logged into LaunchPad). This is where to get support! It actually allows me to provide better support because IPB rocks balls and kinda is built to prevent me from dead-ending people. Anyways that’s sweet. Moving on.

Price Increase

Section prices are on the store for $14.99. These prices are set by us, the authors, but we try to keep sections/plugins/themes on the same playing field so to speak. PageLines takes a 30% cut, which leaves me with $10.49, per section. That’s chump change, considering it takes, minimum, about a full week to get one out the door.

So the prices are going up by a few bucks for ALL my products. That’s all sections, plugins, and theme prices increasing on February 1st 2013.

Sections from $14.99 to $19.99
Plugins from $19.99 to $24.99
Themes from $49.99 to $59.99

I hope you’ll support me in this decision!

New Epicness

I have a lot of experience programming things in WordPress and PageLines now, and have learned a lot of lessons. All of this is being applied to the new section I’m working on at the moment.

It works for clients, products, recipes, hotels, restaurants, and just about anything else you can think of. It has multiple display and template modes, along with exclusive shortcodes giving you just about 100% freedom in showing what you want, and how you want it. That’s about all I can say at the moment, but hang tight because it’s just around the corner.

Cool so new support forum, a price increase, and epic awesomeness on the horizon.
